What we keep, why we keep it, and how to get rid of it.

When you check an address

We record the address you picked and what each network said about it. That shows us where people want broadband, which helps decide where we build next.

We don't ask for your name or email address to do this.

The cookies we use

When you first check an address we set a cookie called eybb_visitor, so we know it's you if you come back. It lasts a year.

If you arrived from a link or an advert, a cookie called eybb_landing notes where from, so we can tell which leaflets and adverts are working. It goes when you close your browser.

If you press "No thanks" we delete those cookies, tell our customer system to stop recognising you, and keep one small cookie that remembers you said no.

If you give us a way to reach you

If you ask us to tell you when we reach your address, we keep the email address or phone number you gave us and use it for that.

We only send prices and offers if you tick the separate box that says we can. Leaving it unticked costs you nothing.

Who sees it

Your details are held in our customer system. To check an address we ask the networks that run the lines, Openreach and MS3, what they can do there. We don't sell your details.

How long we keep it

We're still setting fixed time limits, and we'll publish them here. Until then, ask at any time and we'll remove what we hold about you.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold, have it corrected or have it removed. Ring us and a person here will sort it out. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Anything here you'd rather ask about? Ring 01964 000 000 and a person here will tell you straight.

When you check an address we set a cookie, so we know it's you if you come back. Nothing here needs it — say no and it's gone for good. What we keep.
