What we found in Hedon
It's an even split so far: five of the ten HU12 8 postcodes we sampled could be connected, and five couldn't yet. The address check tells you which side you're on.
Why broadband is different around Hull
Most of the country runs on Openreach's lines. Hull and much of the area around it don't: they grew up on their own phone network, now KCOM's. That's why many of the national names you'd expect aren't an option on most lines here.
Other networks have since built alongside it, including MS3, and that's the line we use. Where MS3 reaches your address, you have a choice.
Why it sends as fast as it receives
Where we connect you on MS3's line, the upload is as fast as the download. That's the difference people notice on a video call, or when a whole folder of photos needs to go somewhere.
Who you ring
A small team in East Yorkshire. If it's our end, we fix it. If it's the line into your house, that's the network's engineer, but we report it, chase it and tell you what's happening. You ring us either way.
